Midnight Sun Style: How to Channel Zara Larsson’s Glow-Soaked Fashion Trend for Your Next Trip!

There’s a new travel fashion mood lighting up feeds in 2026—and it doesn’t set with the sun. Inspired by Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun era, this aesthetic blends glowing skin, Y2K nostalgia, and high-energy color into a look that feels like golden hour… all day (and night) long.

At its core, the “midnight sun” trend is about radiance, playfulness, and freedom—think shimmering fabrics, sunset hues, and beachy glam that transitions seamlessly from daytime exploring to late-night cocktails. Larsson’s tour wardrobe and visuals lean heavily into bright tones, rhinestones, and carefree silhouettes, reflecting a “fun, self-expressive” summer energy rooted in early-2000s style .

If you’re planning a getaway—or just want to dress like you are—here’s how to master the look, destination by destination.

Midnight Sun Style: How to Channel Zara Larsson’s Glow-Soaked Fashion Trend for Your Next Trip!

What Is Midnight Sun Fashion?

The midnight sun aesthetic is essentially Euro summer meets Y2K fantasy. It pulls from nostalgic elements like sparkly co-ords, candy-colored accessories, and glossy makeup—but updates them with lighter textures and modern styling.

Beauty-wise, the trend focuses on luminous skin, shimmer, and playful color accents, creating a look that’s both beach-ready and camera-ready . Fashion-wise, expect:

  • Sunset-inspired palettes (coral, gold, hot pink, citrus)

  • Sheer layers and flowy fabrics

  • Statement sparkle (sequins, rhinestones, metallics)

  • Swimwear as outerwear

  • Chunky, nostalgic accessories

After years of plain neutrals and “quiet luxury” style, I for one am thrilled to see bold, bright style making a comeback.

Get the Midnight Sun Aesthetic

If you’re trying to nail this aesthetic, the best piece of advice I can give is don’t overthink it! Grab the bold colors and sunset inspired hues. Opt for a little sequin, sparkle, beading, or all of the above. Finish the look with equally colorful makeup and bold, playful accessories. The key is to have fun with it!

Shop the Midnight Sun Wardrobe

Sunset Dresses & Statement Sets

Flowy silhouettes in sunset tones are the backbone of this trend. Look for ombré fabrics, silky textures, and anything that catches the light. These pieces work just as well for Santorini dinners as they do for rooftop bars in Miami.

Glow Makeup Essentials

Larsson’s signature beauty look is all about dewy, sun-kissed skin with glossy finishes, dramatic eye makeup and layered blush tones . The goal is either full fantasy mermaid glam, or to just casually look like you just stepped off a beach… even if you didn’t.

Accessories That Spark Joy

Accessories are where the midnight sun look really comes alive. Think playful, nostalgic, and slightly over-the-top—because subtlety isn’t the point here.

Why This Trend Works for Travel

Unlike overly curated aesthetics, midnight sun fashion is fun-first and low-pressure. It embraces mixing textures, layering color, and experimenting with bold choices—making it ideal for travel, where spontaneity is part of the experience.

It also transitions seamlessly from day to night. A beach cover-up becomes a dinner outfit; a glossy makeup look works from sightseeing to nightlife.

And most importantly? It captures that feeling we’re all chasing on vacation: freedom, warmth, and a little bit of magic.

The Midnight Sun Packing List

To build a travel wardrobe around this trend, focus on versatile, high-impact pieces:

  • 1–2 sunset-toned dresses

  • A bold bikini or swim set

  • Sheer layering pieces

  • Statement accessories (the more playful, the better)

  • Glow-focused makeup essentials

The beauty of this trend is its flexibility—it works whether you’re exploring coastal towns, dancing at festivals, or lounging poolside.

The midnight sun trend isn’t just about clothes—it’s about energy. It’s about dressing like the sun never sets, like every moment is golden hour, and like your trip is the main event.

With inspiration from Zara Larsson leading the way, this is your sign to go brighter, bolder, and a little more nostalgic on your next getaway.

From classic staples to bold new choices, I’ve got you covered. Get ready to revamp your closet and make a statement this Fall!

Elevate Your Style:

Top Fall Fashion Trends for Women in 2023

Cozy Knitwear

When the temperature starts to drop, there's nothing quite like wrapping yourself in the warmth of cozy knitwear. Chunky sweaters, cardigans, and turtlenecks are back in style for fall 2023. Earthy tones like deep browns, forest greens, and rusty oranges dominate this season's color palette. These knits are not only comfortable but also versatile, making them perfect for layering with both jeans and skirts. Whether you opt for a cable-knit pullover or a trendy oversized cardigan, you'll be both stylish and snug this fall.

Leather & Faux Leather

Leather and faux leather are making a bold comeback this autumn. From sleek leather jackets to edgy pants and skirts, this trend adds a touch of rebellion to your fall wardrobe. Earthy tones like rich burgundy and deep olive green are the go-to colors for leather pieces. To keep it sustainable, consider opting for high-quality faux leather alternatives. These pieces can easily be dressed up or down, adding a touch of sophistication and attitude to any outfit.

Midi Dresses

For those who love dresses, you're in luck this fall! Midi dresses are stealing the spotlight. These dresses come in a variety of styles, from boho-chic florals to sophisticated wrap dresses. To stay on-trend, choose dresses in warm fall colors like mustard, terracotta, and deep plum. Pair them with ankle boots or chunky heels for an effortlessly chic look. Add a belt to cinch the waist and create a flattering silhouette. Midi dresses are versatile enough to take you from casual daytime outings to elegant evening events.

Tailored Suits

Power dressing is making a fierce comeback with tailored suits for women. Whether it's a classic two-piece suit or a stylish pantsuit, this trend exudes confidence and sophistication. Opt for suits in unexpected colors like soft lavender, deep navy, or even plaid patterns for a modern twist. Accessorize with statement jewelry and pointy-toed heels to add a feminine touch. A well-fitted suit is a must-have in every woman's wardrobe, and it's perfect for both office wear and formal events.

Layered Accessories

Accessories are the finishing touch that can transform any outfit, and this fall, it's all about layering. Start with chunky gold or silver necklaces, stacking them for an eye-catching effect. Mix and match different textures and sizes to create a unique look. Statement belts are another must-have accessory for the season; they can be worn over dresses, blazers, or even oversized sweaters to define your waist. Don't forget to experiment with bold scarves, berets, and oversized sunglasses to complete your stylish fall ensemble.

Vintage-Inspired Boots

Boots are a fall fashion staple, and this year, vintage-inspired styles are stealing the limelight. Think knee-high leather boots with chunky heels, lace-up combat boots, and Western-inspired booties. Earthy tones like cognac, taupe, and black are the most sought-after colors. These boots are not only fashionable but also practical for the changing weather. Pair them with your favorite jeans, skirts, or dresses for a trendy and comfortable fall look.

Earthy and Jewel Tones

The color palette for fall 2023 is all about embracing the beauty of nature. Earthy tones like mossy greens, warm browns, and rustic oranges dominate the season. However, don't be afraid to add a pop of color with jewel tones like deep emerald, sapphire blue, and rich burgundy. Mix and match these colors to create visually stunning outfits. Earthy and jewel tones are versatile and complement a wide range of skin tones, making them a must-try trend this fall.

As the leaves turn and the days grow shorter, it's the perfect time to experiment with these top fall fashion trends for women in 2023. From cozy knitwear to vintage-inspired boots, there's something for everyone to elevate their style this season. Don't Miss Out on These Top 7 Must-Have Trends for Spring

It's time to talk spring trends for 2023!

I don’t know how, but we are already in March, so if you haven’t thought about freshening up your style for the season, it’s seriously time to get ready!

This season is all about wearable yet elevated fashion, with a shift towards modern luxury and fresh details and colors. Some of my favorite Spring 2023 trends are:

  • Textured details

  • Mesh dresses

  • Lace embellishments

  • Robin’s Egg Blue

  • Metallics

  • Oversized Denim

  • 3D Florals

Keep reading for more about the top 7 trends for Spring 2023!

Top 7 Trends for Spring 2023!

Textured Details for Spring 2023

Texture is one of the easiest ways to freshen up your look for Spring. Think more grown-up versions of your favorite bohemian classics – frayed edges replace fringe, soft knits update your crochet or macrame. But these high-end details don’t have to be expensive. I love these options affordable options from Macy’s and Mango that will help you get the look for less. Style these with everything from flowy dresses to cropped wide leg trousers.

Mesh Dresses for Spring

Maybe it’s the Ozempic effect or the Tiktok drama that exploding over a certain celebrity and her new mesh dress line, but body con dresses are back in full force. Performance mesh and a midi length helps keep the look classy, but if tight isn’t your thing don’t worry. You can rock the mesh trend in looser, T-shirt style silhouettes as well. This trend is one that will go in and out so shop it with caution and stay on budget.

Lace Details Fashion Trend for Spring

Does lace ever really go out of style? In my opinion absolutely not! It is always classic, sexy but still subtle. This season the feminine detail is popping up in trim, but also all over dresses, blouses and more. Embrace the soft feminine vibe and play with different colors to take your look from extra sultry to unexpected.

Robin’s Egg Blue Color Trend for Spring

Pastels are an obvious choice for Spring, but this season it’s color is an unusual one. Robin’s egg blue is a soft shade found – you guessed it – in robin’s eggs! The soft greenish blue is most flattering on cool skin tones, and it pairs beautifully with contrasting hues like pink and orange.

Metallic Trend for Spring

You typically see metallics more in the Fall/Winter collections, but there is a fresh wave of shimmering pieces transforming the trend for Spring. And the trend isn’t just for evenings – sequined pencil skirts that go from the office to cocktails and jumpsuits with a Studio 54 vibe that work just as well with heels and they do with sneakers.

Oversized Denim Trend for Spring

It seems the grip skinny jeans had on us is over! Slouchy-fit trousers were one of the biggest trends of 2022 and the look continues into the new year, though with slightly more relaxed silhouettes. Keep the colors classic and avoid rips or distressing, to avoid taking the look from chic to sloppy.

3D Flowers and Floral Embellishments for Spring

Yes, we all know – florals for spring. But the 2023 version brings new life to a stale old trope. Large 3D floral embellishments have taken over the runway, and the looks range from surrealist to ethereal.  Wear them on everything from jackets to jewelry.

7 Can't Miss Summer Fashion Trends You Can Actually Afford

Summer is finally here! And while it may not be as light-hearted as we may have hoped for considering 2 years of pandemic, Monkey Pox, inflation, and travel nightmares, we are all still doing our best to make the most of it. And after all, there is so much to look forward to for summer – weekend beach trips, fruity cocktails on a rooftop with friends, long sunset strolls, and family barbeques just because.

If you have slacked on updating your wardrobe and are now trying to get summer ready on a budget, I rounded up 7 Can’t Miss Summer Trends, all Under $50. Whether you style is more classic, adventurous, or somewhere in between, keep reading for my picks on the trends you can’t miss! And the best part? Almost all of my picks are under $50!

Summer Fashion Trends You Can Actually Afford

The nap dress

The nap dress is a trend that I hope never dies! They are soft and ethereal, yet glam in an easy relaxed way. It’s no wonder they rose in popularity in 2021 – when we suddenly started going out again they were an easy transition from our sweats and pajamas. I love them in pretty much any variety, but here are a few of my affordable favorites.

Anything Linen

Linen and summer go hand in hand. It is lightweight, breezy, and always gives understated casual cool. And it’s one of those trends that will never go out of style. Have fun playing with brightly colored linen pieces, or stick to the classic neutral palette. Either way you can’t go wrong.

Fruit prints

Florals have been done time and time again, but summer 2022 is more about a new groundbreaking print family – fruit! Cherries, berries, oranges and more are popping up everywhere and make the perfect fun, unexpected touch. From cutesy dresses to business casual blouses, there is a fruit print for every occasion.  Shop my favorites of the season below.

 High Waisted Swimwear

Swim trends take a throwback vibe this season, and personally I’m overjoyed! High waisted bikinis and 50’s inspired silhouettes are incredibly flattering on most body types, and even though trends wax and wane, you know the look will always come back in style.

Dramatic White Tops

From puffy pirate sleeves to well-placed cutouts and odd silhouettes - dramatic white blouses are one of the hottest trends this summer. I honestly cannot get enough of them, and definitely plan on adding a few more to my collection. Below are just a few of my favorite styles for you to get the look on a budget.

Elevated Flat Sandals

I personally still haven’t got back into the habit of regularly wearing heels, and I don’t see it on the horizon this year either! And judging from the rise in variety and style of flat sandals, most of you are with me on that front.

Even the most basic styles have been elevated this season - more details, embellishments and classy, dressy vibe. Her are some of my favorite elevated flat sandals that will take you anywhere you need to go this summer.

Dainty, Pile It On Gold Jewelry

I have fallen in love with delicate gold jewelry! The look is so chic and understated, and even when the gems are fake, it still gives expensive and elegant.

Now obviously since this is a budget-friendly post, all my picks will be fashion jewelry - not real gold! But if you want the cool girl trendy look of stacks of dainty gold gems, here are some affordable ways to get it. And if you are ready to splurge a little, you can shop some real gold jewelry from shops like Catbird, Melanie Marie, and Mejuri.

3 Trends You Need to Look Amazing this Spring

This Spring has shaped up to be a busy one!

I’ve had some MAJOR life updates that I can’t wait to share with you all, but the thing that is making me happiest is all the good news. Covid rates are falling and travel is pretty much back to normal for most of the world. Of course it feels like we may never be 100% in the clear, but are definitely making strides.

The past 2 years of pandemic have meant I, probably like most of you, have seriously slacked on updating my wardrobe. But since I’m finally leaving my house on a regular basis, socializing like it’s 2019, and of course, traveling internationally again, I’m ready to start freshening up my wardrobe. It’s been a minute since I’ve done any shopping - largely because I’ve been so unmotivated by the way things are going. But it’s about time to shake off the quarantine crust and get polished up for Spring.

Here are a few Spring Style Trends I’m so excited to update my wardrobe with

Spring 2022 Styles To Add to Cart Now!

New Denim Silhouettes for Spring

Paperbag Denim Trend for Spring

You may have heard this before - but the younger generation is claiming skinny jeans are over! I personally reject this statement. I love the casual sexiness of a pair of tight fitted skinny jeans. Plus, since I’m a short girl with curves, a skinny jean is naturally flattering to my body type. However I love playing with new silhouettes. The boyfriend jean is always a classic, and I love this drawstring waist paperbag fit for a super comfy, casual look. Skinny jeans may not be over for me, but distressed ones definitely are. The look for Spring is casual, cool and polished, and distressed denim can take your look into grunge territory. Not a bad look, just not the main fashion trend of Spring.

Classic Tanks in Neutral Palettes

Nude Fitted Bodysuit

Call it the Kim Kardashian Skims effect, but all of a sudden fitted nude tanks are EVERYWHERE. This is not the most flattering item on its own, but when styled properly it can make an amazing statement. I have this tank in nude, black and white, and it’s one of my staples. I can pair it with just about anything, and if I want to jazz it up, I can add fun jewelry or throw on a blazer.

Block Heel Strappy Pumps and Sandals

Venice Beach Photography Inspiration

Who thinks heels are over? After a year of having nightlife, travel, and time with friends interrupted I can’t blame you! I have been admiring my collection of sexy stilettos, while living in sneakers, flip flops. and when working from home - house slippers. But I’m ready to start transitioning into more stylish, grown-up footwear for my Spring wardrobe refresh. I discovered Alterre Shoes and fell in love hard! They make versatile shoes with interchangeable straps to maximize your wearing options. They have everything from interchangeable sandals to boots, all created ethically in Brazil. They have everything from classic neutrals to super fun cow prints that will really make a statement.

Mini Purses or Cross Body Bags

Spring Style Updates 2021

Spring’s handbag trends are largely inspired by how life changed for many of us over the past year. The days of needing a huge office tote are over for a lot of people. When I go out these days, all I’m holding is phone, keys, and a mini wallet with one or 2 credit cards and my ID. So I’ve warmed up to the tiny but super stylish mini bags that were always far from functional for every day normal life.

7 Tips for Traveling Light While Staying in Style

Whether we are traveling to a tropical island for beach hopping or spending the holidays in a snowy country, there is one dilemma that many of us have to face: how do we travel light while staying in style?

This concern has been quite a challenge for many travelers, in addition to the hassle of long-haul flights, heaving our luggage around, and jet lag. While bringing bigger suitcases can enable you to fit all your pre-planned outfits and achieve your OOTD photo goals, they won’t surely make your travel convenient. On the other hand, traveling light can make you feel more comfortable and mobile, but your wardrobe will be painfully limited.

There’s good news though! Traveling light without sacrificing style is possible—and the best way to do this is to learn how to pack smart. To help you with this, we have listed down the best packing hacks to organize the perfect capsule wardrobe for your next travel!

Traveling light and in style: best hacks

Here are some travel tips and tricks to help you make the most out of your suitcase space and style.

1. Pack separates

Instead of thinking of your outfit set per day, think of your clothes as separate pieces that can be mixed and matched. By packing separates, you get multiple looks out of each piece of clothing while saving suitcase space.

If you think you are only going to wear a piece once, consider replacing it with another that can be worn multiple times and can be complemented by another piece of clothing. Bring clothing pieces that are versatile enough to pair with your other pieces and still look fashionable. Some great basics you can consider are denim skirt, wool coat, cardigan, little black dress, white turtleneck top, black skirt or pants, leather boots, and neutral-colored sneakers.

2. Stick with neutrals

Bring your neutral-colored clothing pieces but throw in some color to make it pop.

These neutral colors, which include white, black, navy, tan, and denim will tie your wardrobe together. With simplified color combos, it will be easier for you to mix and match pieces without compromising style.

If you want to keep it simple yet aesthetic, opt for a tri-color palette. For this, brown, yellow, and beige make a perfect combination as they complement each other. Yellow becomes the primary tone that will accentuate your style with brown and beige as supporting hues to spruce up your looks.

3. Wear your bulkiest pieces on the plane

Free up your suitcase space by wearing your bulkiest clothing pieces on board. If you’re traveling to a country with chilly weather, you can opt to wear your big wool jacket or trench coat, bobble hat, and chunky boots as well as carry your bulky items so you don’t have to worry about fitting them in your suitcase. Besides, you can delayer your clothes and shove them in the overhead bin to lighten your clothing load.

4. Minimize the shoes

Shoes, as we all know, are heavy and space-consuming. To keep your luggage load lighter, make sure to narrow your shoes down to one to three pairs on any trip, ideally, ones that balance aesthetics and functionality. Opt for lightweight shoes and those that serve multiple purposes like sneakers, flats, sandals, and loafers.

If you’re heading to countries like Europe, you’ll probably encounter cobblestoned streets that are lovely to stroll along. However, if you’re power walking, consider comfortable shoes to save your feet from fatigue. If you’re visiting beaches, opt for slippers or sandals that are durable and waterproof.

5. Accessorize the Right Way

Keep your accessories and makeup in sleek pouches that can double as evening bags to also save luggage space. Select only pieces of jewelry, hats, socks, and other accessories that will jazz up the clothing pairs you have in mind.

6. Pack the must-haves, not the nice-to-haves

Think long and hard about every item you wish to bring, and then eliminate anything you think won’t be functional and multipurpose. After all, quality is more important than quantity. By opting for the former, you also reduce your luggage load, making your travel more comfortable and convenient.

Pack only the pieces that you love, and need the most. If you don’t have much space, resist the urge to bring clothing for the sole purpose of “just in case” because you can always buy an extra piece of clothing in the stores. If you are on your cycle, consider also wearing period underwear for leak-proof protection while traveling.

7. Bring a multipurpose bag

Bags also take up much luggage space. To make your travel load lighter, make sure to bring a multipurpose bag that you can also wear on the plane. It can be a mini backpack, tote bag, sling bag, or handbag. To optimize your luggage space, bring a bag that can serve different purposes rather than bringing different kinds of bags that might only be used once.

Versatility is the key

To travel light, being versatile is a must.

The clothes, shoes, and accessories that you aim to insert into your suitcase should be as versatile as possible and can serve multiple functions throughout your trip. By doing this, you can have seamless and convenient travel while staying stylish.

Hope these tips help you get and stay organized and stylish while traveling! Let me know in the comments what trips you’ve got coming up in 2022!

It’s hard to believe we’ll be transitioning into Fall in the next month or so. My wardrobe definitely needed some updating after spending the better part of a year and a half in the house! But I am being more conservative with how I shop and how I spend, and making sure I can get decent mileage out of the items I buy.

summer to fall styling ideas
  1. Layers are your friend

  1. The easiest way to make a summer dress work for Fall is to pile on the layers. You take an easy summer sundress and top it with a denim jacket or cropped leather moto jacket and bring a whole new seasonal vibe to the look. You can even work in scarves - silky ones when it’s still warm out then thicker styles , like wool and cashmere as the temperatures drop.

  2. Don’t neglect your accessories

The right accessories can completely change an outfit. It can take a classic casual look to the next level, or make a fancy dress low key cool. If you are trying to figure out ways to transition your summer favorites to fall, don’t forget your accessories. Keep your favorite summer bags and baubles in rotation, pairing them with fall essentials like jeans and a crisp white button down. It will be an unexpected touch and an easy way to keep the summer vibe going as temperatures cool off.

  3. Yes, You Can Wear Pants and a Dress

Don’t be afraid to experiment with fashion! The slip dress is a summer staple, and one of the some of the most genius styling hacks I’ve seen on TikTok involve creative ways to style them. Why not tuck a summery slip dress into jeans and wear it like a camisole? Or pair a dress with dramatic side splits with a pair of leather skinnies and boots? Get creative with how you style and of course have fun!

  4. Booties, Booties Rocking Everywhere

Booties are a fall staple, but you don’t have to wait until late September to wear them! Style them with your summer sundresses to keep rocking your favorites into the next season. I love ankle boots and Western inspired styles paired with a boho sundress and jean jacket.

  5. Tone Down the Summer Colors and Prints

I love going bright and bold for summer, but as you are getting ready to transition to Fall, it’s time to start thinking about ways to tone it down. Stash away your tropical prints and anything that is peak summer; focus on the pastels, solids or more subdued florals to make the look work for Fall.

How to Get the Bridgerton Fashion Look in 2021

If you haven’t watched Bridgerton on Netflix by now, what are you even doing! The show has been the talk of the ton for weeks now, and once you watch the first episode you’ll immediately understand. The story, the diverse cast, the Duke of Hastings, and the soundtrack make it a must-watch. And then there is the fashion! The look of the Regency era elite was dainty, feminine, and full of intricate details; seeing it all on screen is a feast for the eyes. The fashion on Bridgerton is already having an influence and come Spring it will be all the rage. Since you may not have a modiste on call to whip up a custom ball gown for you overnight, I found some of the best Bridgerton inspired fashion pieces you can buy now! Most of these pieces are under $100, so you can get the trend for a steal.

Hopefully we’ll be able to return to the social scene soon enough, because these looks are just too pretty to be stuck at home. Now all you need is a Duke of Hastings look alike!

How to Get the Bridgerton Look in 2021

How to Get the Bridgerton Look in 2021

Regencycore Bridgerton Inspired Dresses

The ladies on Bridgerton wore dresses almost exclusively, as was the social norm of the Regency era. Regencycore fashion almost always featured an empire waist, lace, ribbon, and romantic embellishments. The Bridgertons favored a pastel blue palette, while the Featheringtons went bold and bright. Get the look with these stunning Bridgerton inspired dresses below!

Bridgerton Style Accessories Under $100

The ladies of Bridgerton made statements with their accessories. Everything from their headpieces to their gemstones was carefully thought out and coordinated for the perfect suitor catching look. For the girl in 2021, accessories are a great way to have a subtle nod to the fashion of the Regency era, without going all in with the Bridgerton inspired fashion. An oversized feathered headpiece may look absurd in 2020, but a lace or pearl headband or hair clip is perfectly appropriate. And since you are probably not dropping big bucks on an over the top hair accessories, check out these Bridgerton inspired hair accessories under $100!

Corset Tops and Regency Inspired Separates

While the ladies in Bridgerton favored dresses, we are women of a modern time! Styling separates is a great way to work in some of that Regencycore charm. Think jeans with a lace blouse or one with gathered details. Check out some of my favorite Bridgerton style blouses below. These may not all be authentic to Regency era fashion, but are a great way to get the look.

Bridgerton Inspired Beauty Looks

I’m still not over the natural beauty of the ladies on Bridgerton! Every character, no matter her age, seemed to have the same fresh glowy skin and effortless makeup. The natural makeup was even more striking when paired with the elaborate hairstyles of the Regency era. To get the look, focus on skin care and no makeup makeup. Think deep moisturizing, all over highlighter, and pale pink cheekbones and lips. The Multiple by Nars is a great way to get that fresh Daphne Bridgerton glow. And you can’t speak of Daphne Bridgerton without discussing those bangs! Micro-bangs are an interesting, and not easy look to pull off. Play with the look with a cheap pair of clip in bangs! You can trim them, or just position them differently on your head to make them appear longer or shorter.

What was your favorite part of Bridgerton? For me it was definitely the fashion and the diverse cast. If you are as obsessed with it as I am, we’ve got 8 seasons coming up to look forward to!

How to Dress Like Emily in Paris on a Budget

Have you binge watched Emily in Paris yet? If you haven’t, girl you are missing out! The show is an incredibly charming look at the life of an American Expat in Paris. Of course the show takes plenty of creative liberties, but it still is wildly entertaining and a great weekend treat. The story is relatable and humorous, Lily Collins is drop dead gorgeous, and the dreamy Parisian scenery is everything you’d imagine. It’s no surprise it’s one of the top trending shows on Netflix. From the glow of the Eiffel Tour to the fresh baked pastries on display everywhere you look, the show will make you want to instantly sneak your way into Paris – travel bans be damned!

I’ve been lucky enough to have been to Paris several times, and the city always makes me want to take my style to the next level. One of the most important elements of the show is the fashion! Emily’s looks are bold, daring and feminine. She plays with texture, prints, accessories, and makeup in a way that pops at every angle. Her fashion choices aren’t the only note-worthy ones on the show. Her boss Sylvie and her best friend Camille channel that classic cool French sex appeal, and her other expat BFF Mindy has a wardrobe of whimsical fashion herself. But since Emily is the star of the show, I’m sharing my tips for how to channel her style, even if you are stuck here in the US doing Zoom calls all day!

Emily in Paris Fashion.jpg
Emily in Paris Outfit Ideas.jpg

Keep reading below to learn how to dress like Emily in Paris, on a normal girl’s budget!

1. Have fun and play with colors

As a New Yorker, black was pretty much my wardrobe staple. Since I moved to LA I’ve definitely lightened up a bit. One of the most noteworthy things about the fashion on Emily in Paris is how colorful it is! Emily wears everything from bright yellow to deep fuchsia. She balances the pop colors in her wardrobe with her makeup. One of the easiest ways to pull off Emily’s look is to wear colorful dresses, bonus points if they are in a unique silhouette. Now remember - this is not necessarily a French approach to fashion. If you look at Camille and Sylvie they are often wearing black, white, and a more neutral color palette. But Emily is a fish out of water, and her style is an interpretation of how an American expat sees French fashion. But a dress is always considered a basic in Paris, and the French know so many ways to style them. From mini to midi to maxi dresses, they are always on trend. Pick a pop color and style it with avant-garde finishing touches for that Emily in Paris look!

2.  Incorporate texture and patterns into your looks

It may have been the seasons, but Emily got creative with the layering throughout the show Emily in Paris. Emily had a way of making her look more dynamic with the use of jackets, blazers, belts, and accessories. She also got adventurous with prints. There was always a ton of visual interest! I also noticed Emily was layering the majority of her looks. And a lot of the looks were layered with jackets/blazers of different textures. She also incorporated classic and fun elements and patterns, like plaids, tweeds, leathers, graphics as well as other textures. The layering made the outfits pop and gave the look more definition. Fall is the perfect season to play with layering the texture and patterns, so think about fun ways to work them in!

3. Be Generous with the Accessories

Your look just isn’t complete without the right accessories! The accessories in Emily in Paris took her looks over the top, in a good way. She was always wearing something that was the perfect finishing touch – a beret, a brooch, a scarf, or the notorious bag charm!  Now, you won’t see many Parisians wearing beret hats, and they kind of scream tourist. But they are still irresistibly cute and looked perfect on Emily during her adventures in Paris. If you must don a hat, try a newsboy style like Camille for a more authentic and modern Parisian cool grl look.

4. Work in Some French Brands

The piece de resistance on Emily’s look was often a piece of wildly expensive French jewelry –Chanel brooch, Dior earrings, or designer version of an Eiffel Tour bag charm.  Of course, these are expensive and impractical, but they are also a beautiful and subtle way to pay homage to a designer you love, without falling into logomania. Scout vintage stores or resale shops for some authentic designer finds on a budget. But there is no way to truly dress like Emily in Paris without indulging in some classic French designer duds!

Hope these tips help! Please note than no real Parisian women dress like Emily in Paris. Showing how she views French style is part of the fun of the show.

3 Tips You Need to Know to Look Amazing in Biker Shorts

I know it’s early Fall, but on the West Coast it still feels like peak summer! I’ve been working out a ton trying to get back in shape after all the gyms closed. So I find myself spending more and more time in activewear! My daily routine is pretty much workout at the gym in my apartment, get ready, then head to my desk to work from home for the rest of the day. Some days my “getting ready for work” is just putting on a new pair of leggings and a blouse that looks good from the waist up for Zoom meetings

I’ve been playing with new ways to have fun with activewear and make it work for more than just the gym. Bike shorts have become one of my staples for working out. They are perfect for the days when it’s too hot to wear leggings, and offer more coverage than a traditional yoga or running short. I personally avoid wearing too short fitness shorts. They are completely unforgiving and I find myself just was worried about how I look in them as I am about my form when working out! Biker shorts are the perfect compromise! They are versatile enough to work in and outside the gym, and you can find them in so many prints and colors. If you are wondering how to style biker shorts, stay tuned!

Here are a few ways to style biker shorts - from sporty to chic!

How to Style Biker Shorts

How to Style Biker Shorts

Biker Shorts and Crop Top

The sportiest way to wear biker shorts is with a crop top of sports bra. It’s the perfect look for a gym session, or if you just want to look like you worked out! The pair I’m wearing in this post is from Athleta, and they are sold out, so I’m linking similar ones below. The pop color is so fun, and was surprisingly flattering. Neon green definitely makes a statement, so I paired these with a simple black crop and my white Nike sneakers.

An all black bike shorts sports bra combo is also a great pairing! It’s way more subtle if attention grabbing, electric colors aren’t your thing. Plus black is the most flattering color and works on any skin tone.

Biker Shorts and Sporty Sweatshirt Combo

If you want a little more coverage on top, or it’s just too chilly to wear a crop top all day, add a sporty chic sweatshirt! Play with proportions to have some fun — a slightly fitted sweatshirt can look nicely pulled together, or an oversized boyfriend style for more of a cool girl vibe.

I did a little tuck with my sweatshirt so it was ever so slightly cropped in the front. Just tuck a little bit of the hem into your bra and fluff. The elastic should keep it in place all day, and that’s an easy way to give your sweatshirt some shape.

Biker Shorts All Dressed Up to Go Out

I had a lot of fun styling this look! I paired the same set of neon green biker shorts with a semi-sheer silk blouse and strappy heels. I kept the other elements in a simple color palette because the shorts are so loud and this was already an adventurous fashion look.

If you are wearing a pair of biker shorts in a more neutral color or black, play with a fun pattern or color on top. You can even layer on accessories or grab a nice bag with a sophisticated shape to finish the look.

Hope you love these style tips! Are you into the biker shorts look? I know you may not think this is the most user-friendly look, but trust me the formula works. Give it a try if you are bored with your current wardrobe situation.

The exact pieces I’m wearing are no longer online, but I found these super cute and affordable options below! Click below to shop the look and let me know how you style it!

3 Fall Trends to Rock Right Now!

I’m so excited that I’m getting a little taste of Fall this week! It’s been 3 months since I moved to LA and I’m finally getting to come back home for a visit. It feels amazing to be back in NY, even though I’m only here for a week for some friend/family time and a wedding. I’ve been spending as much time as possible soaking up the energy that only NY has, and getting to break out some of my fave Fall fashion trends. It’s still a bit too warm in LA to rock leather, sweaters and the like, so I’m enjoying my good old east coast Fall fashion while I can. Here are some of the looks in my rotation this week!

 All Black Outfits for Fall

Black never goes out of style. I have so many black pieces I love, and when packing for this trip I found myself digging up a lot of them. Call it the New York girl’s staple, but it’s classic, stylish cool, and easy to wear. I’ll be playing with velvet skinnies and leather skirts paired with sexy pumps or chunky boots. And of course, dramatic sweaters with fun detailing!

Zara Green Velvet Wrap Dress
Velvet Trend for Fall

Velvet Statement Dresses

I have a weakness for velvet and it’s so hard to pull off in hot weather. Luckily, it’s just cool enough  for me to get some wear out of my stylish velvet dresses. I love the material on solid fabrics as much as on prints. For now, I’m still pulling off bare legs, but this look will work just as well with semi-sheer tights. Plus it’s perfect for dressing up for a Fall wedding or date night.

Slip dresses were pretty much my go to this summer, so I’m playing with ways to transition them for Fall. When layered with a stylish knit and pumps or booties, they work perfectly for cooler seasons. I’m putting away my pastels and prints from summer, and sticking to classic dark shades, jewel tones and neutrals.

Fall Sweater Shopping
Chunky Cable Knit Sweater Styling
Nomo Soho Rooftop Fall

Can you believe it’s about to be October! I feel like summer just flashed by and now before you know it we’ll be putting up the Christmas tree and wrapping presents! Even though I wish summer 18 never would have ended, I have to admit Fall has its charm. The stunning colored leaves, crisp air, and of course the fashion. Fall dressing means you can get a little more serious and a little more dressed up, and pull out luxe fabrics and standout knits. I mean does anything really beat the perfect knit sweater??? This one is from one of my favorite Instagram brands – Mum’s Handmade.

One look at their feed full of incredibly stylish women in all eyes on me chunky knits and you will be obsessed. My first one was a pretty pink cardigan that I splurged on after getting a nice bonus last year, and it still looks just as amazing as it did the first day I got it. Then when they had a sale over the summer, I decided to grab one of their knit sweater dresses in classic black. They rarely discount so I jumped at the chance to get one on sale, and it’s finally chilly enough for me to actually wear it! And when it cools off even more I can rock it with tights or jeans to give me legs some coverage.

10 Must Haves For The Most Fashionable Fall Ever!

Fall is finally here! The weather may still be pretty warm where you are, but any day now you’ll start to notice that crisp morning air. There is something about Fall that just makes me want to get more dressed up, put on some glam makeup, and refresh my home! I’m definitely looking forward to putting away my flip flops and sundresses and transitioning into booties, layers and cardis without breaking a sweat. Are you planning any Fall fashion updates? I know you may not feel very motivated, especially if you’ll still be working from home. But hopefully things are starting to ease up in your city and you can start having some fun! In the spirit of getting ready for the new season, here are 10 fall must-haves you need to add to your shopping list!

Fall Shopping Guide

Flat Leather Mules

Stylish and super comfy, these are a requirement for the transition into the fall months. Nude or classic black pair perfectly with most outfits, and a pattern or animal print will easily elevate an outfit, providing interest.

A Chunky Knit Sweater

With social distancing still a requirement, a chunky sweater is the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe as temperatures start dropping and we safely enjoy drinks or outside dining in the evening with friends.

A Pair of Comfy Ankle Boots

I don’t know about you, but I love the look of a dress or skirt with booties! Booties are an absolute must-have this season. Whether they’re flat or have a bit of a heel, you can’t go wrong!

A Dramatic Fall Mani

I’m all about a good mani, and the fall is the perfect time to start transitioning to darker hues. This year, I’m committing to trying blues and greens. Of course, it wouldn’t be fall without a good burgundy, though!

If you’re into dip powder nails, I’m loving Revel Nails’ Flannel, Eucalyptus and Elderberry. For a regular mani or pedi – Drama at La Scala or Complimentary Wine are also good, from OPI.

Skinny Black Leather leggings

I’m a sucker for a good pair of leggings, and leather ones with a pair of boots easily dress up a sweater or tunic, or are perfect for a weekend outing with a pair of sneakers, too.

Classic Leopard Flats

Believe it or not, leopard-print is a neutral and one that adds a ton of flair to an outfit! Pointy-toe leopard flats are my favorite, as they can easily be dressed up or down and allow me to still keep it comfortable.

A Simple Shirt Dress

Keep a shirt dress simple with a pair of Converse on the weekend, a pair of heeled booties for date night or pointy-toe flats when we go back into the office, and you’re good to go!

A Pair of Dark Wash Jeans

Dark wash denim in any style (boyfriend, skinny or flared) is a fall staple, and can literally go with anything! Dress up with heeled boots or booties or dress down with loafers or sneakers. Dark wash denim is a wardrobe addition that will easily get you through the fall!

An Elegant Duster

Buttery soft dusters are my fave! Paired with leggings or jeans, a comfy cami or long-sleeved tee, a good duster is both comfortable and stylish!

A Chambray Button Shirt

A Chambray top is a classic that is easy to style multiple ways. Tuck it into a skirt, wear it with black denim or layer it with a blazer for a more dressy, polished look.

Whether you’re in warmer temps eagerly awaiting fall’s cool down, or if you’re further north and already feeling the dip of the season, grab some of these essentials to make your stylish transition into fall!

What are you looking forward to most this Fall?

The Perfect Slip Dress

blush pink slip dress

Every girl needs a collection of slip dresses. I have several in a mix of different patterns and solids and they never let me down! They are such a classic wardrobe staple and work for pretty much anything your schedule calls for. Last minute meeting or zoom? Throw on a slip dress and a blazer. Running errands then popping into brunch? Grab a slip dress and some sneakers. The possibilities are endless! I love this soft printed blush dress since it’s so versatile, and has a special romantic feel. We aren’t going out much these days, but this is perfect for our occasional dinner at an outdoor restaurant.  Plus it’s under $100 so definitely a steal!

The Sassy Mini Dress

entertaining in style at home

This dress is the perfect mini for those summer days and nights. It works perfectly with dad sneakers and a denim jacket for a casual look. Or you can dress it up with some strappy heels for a sexy evening outfit.  The material is also a great quality and has a nice thickness to it so it feels much more expensive, and the color just can’t be beat! It’s fun and sassy with a nice youthful vibe, but high quality enough to be appropriate for a woman in her 30’s like me.

White crochet dress

The Flirty Crochet Dress

This dress is a boho girl’s dream! It comes in black and ivory and is a great little number for your summer wardrobe. I’ll be wearing this for our at home date nights as well as socially distant beach days. Add some layers of delicate gold jewelry and fringe flat sandals to complete the look. You can also top it with a denim jacket or a stylish kimono to take the look up a notch.

The Glam Maxi Dress

glam blue maxi dress

Maxi dresses are the perfect way to look casually glam and sophisticated. This tie-dye maxi is so unique and a great one for the summer rotation. The cutaway sides and back detail are super sexy and add a nice unexpected touch. And since tie-dye was the biggest trend to come out of quarantine, this is a glam way to get that look without attempting it yourself! It will be a long time before I’ll have any evening events to go to, but this would be perfect for entertaining at home.
