Are you starting to feel the Holiday vibes? This one has been a crazy year to say the least. I’m planning to spend the rest of 2020 getting in some much needed pre-Holiday R&R. It’s time to get intentional about winding down and getting back to focusing on you. This holiday season may be unlike most others with all the guidelines and restrictions on travel and get togethers. While you may not be able to go to your favorite destination or have the holiday season you are used to, there are still ways to make celebrating at home special.

The Drinkworks® Home Bar by Keurig® is a great way to bring some magic to your home during the holiday season. The Drinkworks Home Bar by Keurig is a cocktail appliance that is easy to use, affordable, and creates high-quality drinks that you’d expect to find at a bar or made at home. Trust me, you won’t even miss going out for drinks at a bar once you get one of these! The Drinkworks Home Bar uses premium cocktail pods to craft delicious, bar-quality, ice-cold cocktails at home, just with the push of a button. All you have to do is pop in a pod, press play, and you’ve instantly set the vibe. Just Press. Play. Relax.

Every cocktail pod is filled with real ingredients and natural flavors, and yes, they include alcohol! So, all you need to add is ice and garnish. Plus, it’s a great value for at home entertaining. No need to stock up on assorted spirits and mixers, the pods are an easy crowd-pleaser! You can make a different high-quality cocktail for everyone, with no measuring, mixing, shaking or cleaning. It even adds the perfect amount of carbonation to drinks that are supposed to be fizzy! And it literally takes less than a minute to craft the perfect cocktail!

There is also a ton of versatility with the pods. They have over 2 dozen flavors, from Mojitos to Moscow Mules.  And the Fireside Collection is a fun holiday themed pack, with flavors like Ginger Snap, White Russian, Pomegranate Elderflower Spritzer, and Spiced Punch. My favorite drink is the Moscow Mule, and I also fell in love with the Rose Spritz. But you really can’t go wrong with any of the cocktail flavors!

Every Beauty DIY You Need to Know to Look Great Now!

LA has been on quarantine for over a month now, and we’ve got another month to go! If you are used to getting regular salon treatments, I’m sure things are starting to look and feel a little rough. Even if restrictions on social distancing start to ease up next month I don’t suggest you immediately run out and book a salon treatment. Safety needs to remain priority number 1, and beauty may just have to wait! But that doesn’t mean you have to look like you’ve been in quarantine for 60 plus days. Here are my tips for maintaining your beauty routine while stuck at home. I know this may seem trivial in the face of a global pandemic, but I know that personally I feel better when I look better. After all, beauty is a form of self-care and we all need some of that right now!

How to DIY Manicure

How to Do a Basic At Home Manicure

Nail salons will be a no go for a while. If your nails are starting to show the effects of the coronavirus quarantine, polish them up at home! If you’ve been wearing old acrylics or gel polish, soak it off with acetone and give your nails a few days to breathe. Shape them up with a nail file and buff the surface to smooth any ridges or nicks. Don’t forget to show your hands some love with a good exfoliation, hand cream massage, and dab of cuticle oil. If you can’t paint your own nails, I love these nail stickers from Color Street. They are super easy to apply and come in dozens of fun colors and patterns.

4 Easy Quarantine Hairstyles

There is a lot of variance with what you can do with your hair while in quarantine, especially depending on your hair’s texture and length. Clip on ponytails or braided headbands are a foolproof way to glam up your look in just a few minutes. Just look for a set that matches your hair color and texture. You also can’t go wrong with a wig, especially for those super lazy days when you can’t even think about washing your hair. And if you have natural hair, a set of cute chunky twists is the perfect protective style.

DIY Facial at Home

How to do an At Home Facial

I’ve only had 2 or 3 facials in my life, so I can definitely live without them. I had an amazing one at Threo Spa in Pasadena, which I will definitely repeat once quarantine is over. Even though I’m not big on salon facials, I always do my own weekly skin treatments at home. Start with steaming your face to open pores before applying a mask of your choice. I have a few in rotation, depending on how my skin looks and feels that week. After the mask, I layer on a few serums and moisturizers, followed by a few minutes of facial massage with my rose quartz roller.

Hope these tips help you look and feel more like yourself. And remember, beauty is supposed to be fun! These are hard times, and you may need the distraction. Or you may feel like looks are the absolute last thing on your mind and that is totally fine. Focus on whatever you need to stay sane and get through this!

How to Nail the Embroidery Trend DIY Style

Images by Julius July

Check out my current obsession!

Embroidered and patchwork detailing has been a major trend this season, but the prices on some of these pieces have been a major turn off. So when I found this oversized white denim trucker jacket at Beacon's Closet, I was all over it! I loved it plain, but it was begging for a makeover!

I was so hyped to DIY this baby, I forgot to take before pics, but it's pretty much a classic white jacket, little bit baggy, kind of like an old school Levi's boyfriend jacket. After endless analysis over the array of patches at MJ Trim, I settled on these large scale rose patches. They were kind of old Victorian romantic meets tattoo parlor, and I loved the combination. It ended up being cheaper to buy a few of the large patches and cut them to size instead of buying all small to medium sized ones.

At home I trimmed and laid them out until I found a pattern I liked. I arranged them on the jacket, safety pinning them in place to get a good look at the layout before ironing them on. When I was ready to commit, I unpinned them one at a time then firmly pressed into place with an extra hot iron.

And ta da! The final look came out pretty perfect! I got premium patches, so this total look cost me about $70, but that's still way cheaper than a comparable style will cost at retail, and it only took about 30 minutes of work to get it done! My last DIY jacket was a total bust, but I am so happy with these results I may try my hand at another makeover!
