Disney Princess Dressing

My style sometimes gets edgy, but at heart I love pieces that are feminine, romantic and soft. Blazing summer temps usually make me want to stay casual, but some occasions call for girly glamour. This baby blue floral ruffle dress fits the bill pretty perfectly.  The print is subtle and the robin's egg blue shade is heavenly. I got this beauty from Rent the Runway and I thought it would be perfect for a brunch party. It was a little bit fancier than I expected since it was a chiffon fabric and I thought it was cotton, but I loved it! As soon as I tried it on I started feeling like a long-lost Disney princess.

The dress comes with a belt that you can tie into a bow but I felt like that would have been overkill so just left it off. Even though its super full and flowy, its actually designed to be fitted in the waist for an even more flattering look. Plus the slit up the leg adds just a hint of sex appeal to the look.  This look would be great for everything from date night to a wedding.

Since I was already having Disney princess vibes in this look, I finished it with a fluffy fishtail braid tossed over one shoulder. This dress could go with everything from elegant flat sandals to nude heels, but to play off the colors, I added teal and gold 2-strap sandals and metallic gold sunnies.

What are your go to style ideas for getting dressed up in the summer?
